Business & Finance Manager
A profitable Stockholm marketplace looking for a hands-on generalist to own finance, drive commercial work, and help run the company. ~Half finance, half business.
Location: Stockholm (hybrid)
Remote-first team, but we want you able to join us in person regularly
Why this role is different
Most finance jobs hand you a function to maintain. This one is half finance, half business, and a real slice of "whatever the company needs this week." You'll own the numbers end to end – and sit close enough to the business to argue about pricing, profitability and whether a new category is worth launching – and handle the unglamorous admin that keeps a small company running. If you only want one of those three, this isn't your role. If the combination sounds like the most interesting way to spend the next few years, read on.
We're Tiptapp. We turn idle car space into same-day moving, delivery and recycling. We launched in Stockholm in 2016, we operate across Sweden plus London, Berlin and Lisbon, and – unusually for a startup – we've been profitable since 2020 and aren't dependent on the next raise. 15 people. Backed by early investors in Spotify, Klarna, Avito and Revolut.
What you'll actually do
Own the numbers. Run month-end and annual close with our outsourced accounting partner. Keep the books clean. Own the relationship, set the expectations, catch what they miss.
Make the numbers useful. Build the P&L, budget and forecast models (Google Sheets, data from BigQuery) and turn them into board and investor material people can actually decide from.
Think commercially. Work with the team on pricing, unit economics and business cases for new bets. We want your opinion on whether something makes money, not just a record of whether it did.
Run the admin no one else will. VAT, DAC7, payroll, warrants, compliance, SCB reporting – and the genuinely mundane. No handoffs, nothing "beneath you."
Get us ready for what's next. Package financials for future equity, debt or M&A conversations, and co-present to the board and investors.
Protect the cash. Watch spend, hold suppliers to their promises.
What you won't do (for now)
Manage a team – you'll be hands-on for at least the next year.
Roll out a heavy ERP – we want practical solutions that work today.
Build perfect models in a vacuum – we build, test, iterate.
Who this is for
We care more about range, drive and judgment than about years on a CV or a senior finance title. You probably have a few years of hands-on finance or controlling behind you – enough to take real ownership of the finance stack – but you're not looking to be a pure finance specialist. The combination we're after:
You can own finance and you're genuinely curious about the business behind the numbers.
Solid working knowledge of Swedish accounting/statutory reporting is enough – you'll coordinate our outsourced accountants, not do statutory close yourself. Deeper expertise is welcome but not required.
You're analytical and commercial – you like building a business case as much as closing a month.
You're comfortable being the most junior and the most senior person in the room on the same day: board deck in the morning, mundane admin in the afternoon.
Bias for action. You'd rather ship something useful this week than design the perfect process for next quarter.
Comfortable with tools and automation – Sheets modelling is core; SQL/BigQuery, Fortnox or Stripe experience is a plus, and we expect you to lean on AI to stay lean.
Fluent English; Swedish isn't required but is highly valued.
This is a build-from-scratch role at a profitable small company – high ownership, high visibility, limited support, no big finance team to lean on. That suits some people perfectly and would frustrate others. We'd rather you know which you are before you apply.
What we offer
Competitive salary for our stage — we're a lean, profitable 15-person company, so you're not betting on the next funding round to get paid.
30 days' vacation, 4.5% pension, SEK 5,000 wellness allowance.
Remote-first flexibility with a desk in Stockholm when you want it.
A front-row seat to how a profitable marketplace actually runs – working directly with the CEO.

The team spirit
The Tiptapp journey started in late 2015 and we have accomplished quite a lot in a short period of time. And we aren't just building yet another app. We're creating a new behaviour. We're making people do things that wasn't possible before Tiptapp. And our users love us for it. We as a team love to create new things. We love questioning status quo. Nothing is impossible. And we believe you as our new team member do that as well.
As we are building a top tier start-up team we are of course really picky with values, inter-personal skills, and personality traits in general. Therefore we usually say we're looking for friends, people you want to hang out with, to have fun with and to create magic together with!
We also believe the secret ingredient in any successful startup is to work focused and to cherish the differences within the team and utilise its common strengths. This means not only that we’ll have fun every day but also that we’ll accomplish something far beyond the ordinary.
